Katie My Lap Cat

Katie is our 1 year old. She was adopted as a stray from my in-laws back yard and has always been a bit skittish. Just recently she has started to open up and be more friendly to us. As you can tell, she has become a lap cat when I am on the computer!! She can make typing very difficult because all she wants is to be petted!!

Glasses Part II

Ok, I have had my bifocals for a few days now... They aren't making me sick anymore, but I have made 5 trips to have them adjusted. I learned my lesson the hard way and don't try to mess with them myself. I am a bit of pain because I am the person that focuses on the "slight pressure" above my right ear- Can you fix it? Anyway, they see me coming and they hide.... It is getting closer and my head doesn't hurt when I put them on anymore, but I hate new glasses. Happy to see, but what a pain to get them to fit right!!

Bifocals

AAAH! Finally the time has come and I have my bifocals. The eye doctor said I couldn't have them until I begged for them and I finally did!!! What a difference they make! I admit, day 2 and I am still a little bit nauseous at times, but I can see to read and look at small print and I am a happy camper... I must move very slowly at times because if you jerk your head real fast, whoah, that's when the nausea hits....43 and happy to have bifocals, that is me..

Spring isn't Coming

I have officially decided it will be winter forever. We have 2 inches of snow on the ground since yesterday. I'm tired of winter. Minnesota can keep their snow...

Genetic Testing

Welcome to the wonderful world of genetic testing or how I spent my Thursday morning.... Being a breast cancer survivor of 3 years now, I wasn't totally surprised that my oncologist and surgeon recommended genetic testing. They are concerned that my cancer developed when I was relatively young (39) and they want to make sure there isn't a genetic component........Hmm.... Anyway, my hubby and I spent about an hour and a half with the counselor discussing pros and cons and what a positive would mean. Future surgeries, etc along with drug therapies were talked about. Keep in mind, there is only a small chance that it is genetically related, but I talked myself out of the other breast during this whole process. Anyway, we decided we should go ahead with it so they took my blood, and the waiting game begins, again........2 to 3 weeks and we should know if there was a genetic component in my cancer and we go from there.......

Selling Soap

There is nothing like a low stress job where you get to hang out with a lot of nice people and sell stuff that makes people happy and smell good. Lucky me to spend some time each week at our Bath and Body store.

Spring is Coming??

After the longest winter ever, the snow is finally melting and we can see grass. We need some sun and everything to get green. Hopefully that will change the mood for all of us who have had the dark and gloomies for way too long. Now if we just survive the potholes that have been left behind, we will be ok.....

Quincy Oliver

Quincy is our youngest and he turns 1 on March 18. A kitten who was adopted from the nearby rescue league after we lost one during surgery at the vet's office. He has turned into a handful, but we count ourselves lucky to have him. He is a joy! Anyone looking for a new animal should visit their rescue league where the cages are full of those ready for love and to give it wholeheartedly!

Doogie Howser

My best friend has started a blog and I thought, hmm, I can do that to. Now I'm sitting in front of the computer feeling like a very old Doogie Howser...Anyone remember that show? The first"blogger" in my mind and always had words of wisdom that left you thinking after the show was done.....Don't know if I have that talent, but will see in the days to come..
